Sam De Los Santos, Graduate Intern

My name is Samuel De Los Santos, and I am a counselor-in-training with a passion for helping people become the person they want to be. I primarily work from a framework that emphasizes present-moment awareness, personal responsibility, and growth through authentic connection. I strive to create a counseling environment that feels both supportive and structured, where clients are met with empathy while also being gently challenged when appropriate to move toward their full potential. I view counseling as a partnership, one in which we work together to understand patterns, develop insight, and foster lasting change at a pace that feels both safe and meaningful.

I recognize that beginning counseling can feel difficult or uncertain, yet I believe it is one of the most valuable investments a person can make, not only for themselves but for those around them. I approach each client with the belief that everyone has the right to feel better, to grow, and to move toward wholeness. Christian integration is available upon request and is incorporated thoughtfully and respectfully in alignment with each client’s values and preferences.

I also bring over 6,700 hours of experience in residential treatment settings and 4 years of training at the Citadel, which helps me navigate others through complex life experiences. These experiences I have faced shaped my belief that meaningful change will happen within a safe, collaborative therapeutic relationship where clients feel truly seen, heard, and respected. My approach is grounded, relational, and intentional, with a focus on building trust and clarity throughout the counseling process.
