Kathryn Fuller

Licensed Professional Counselor Associate, ATR-P

I earned my Master’s Degree in Art Therapy and Counseling from Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, while living in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in Texas. Many years ago, I began my career as a photographer and professional artist, spending several years working in ministry, overseas missions, and nonprofit organizations. Later on, I became a licensed art teacher in the state of Texas, teaching elementary art in a large Title 1 school. After recognizing a long-standing desire, coming from years of both ministry and teaching, I pursued my Master’s in Art Therapy, to be better equipped to use art and creativity as a means of deep emotional and spiritual healing.

As an Art Therapist and counselor, I help clients express themselves in ways beyond words or language. Art therapists are trained in art and psychological theory and can help clients integrate nonverbal cues and metaphors that are often expressed through the creative process. Art making in itself can be therapeutic, as well as bring about growth and further knowledge, insight, and wisdom. Using art, I focus on communication, moving through trauma, and attachment theories to help heal family relationships.

I currently work with adult clients, families, and children, particularly those coping with trauma, grief, family conflict, spiritual crises, and significant life changes.

When not in the art studio, I love being outside, hiking, bike riding, and exploring the local restaurants and farms, as well as reading (a lot!) and spending time with my family.
